Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is an appealing story to the Cambodia gambling halls that sit just over the border from neighboring Thailand, where gambling hall wagering is prohibited. Eight gambling dens are situated in a relatively small space in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling dens is in a perfect location, a 3 to four hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 largest gambling locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The astonishing capital accrued from the casinos ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a couple of limitations requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mainly Thai; although, financial sources are cryptic. The borders are formally open from 9:00 a.m. to 1700, and though visas are allegedly necessary to pass, there are methods and means around this, as is true of many border crossings.
The initial Cambodia gambling dens opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving only 1 gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary bateau casino, contains 150 slot machines and sixty table games. The Naga casino is open all day and night with 42 tables of mini-punto banco, 4 tables of blackjack, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The first gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon followed. A total of one hundred and fifty slot machine games and five tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four one armed bandits and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred slots and seventy gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 one armed bandits and ninety six gaming tables, including 87 punto banco (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slots and sixty six of the normal tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, again a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slots and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-around resort and hotel building that highlights many conveniences aside from the gambling hall, which offers 10,000 square feet of 130 one armed bandits and 88 table games.
